Sculpture and S.M.U.T.—Things are heating up again and Thursday is developing into a great line-up of shows from Joshua Liner to Jonathan Levine and every gallery in between. Kris Kuksi’s impossible fantastical and Gothic sculptures will be on display at Joshua Liner on 28th as well as Naturel’s artistic interpretation of nudie mags in a show entitled S.M.U.T. Great night, Get some.
Painting and Sculpture on tap—Jacob Lewis Gallery has an exhibition of new sculptures and works on paper by Rina Banerjee. The sculptures are a wild combination of materials speaking about ones’ cultural identity in an urban context. Check it out this Thursday night. Also Bill Jensen has a show of triptychs. His painting style is more of an uncovering process, whereby he teases out the image through repetitive painting and scraping until the final image is realized. Check it out.
