Best gallery exhibit of the show. We bought art! Genevieve who uses herself as a canvass in her photographs exudes extreme confidence and poise. Love it. She may be the next Cindy Sherman. Watch out.

Moynihan Station (Old Post Office Across from Penn Station)

Great show for up and coming artists. So cool to see the insides of this historic post office where each gallery had a space on 2 floors of the post office. I imagine in the day that each massive office was for on person only. Things have changed. I took a lot of pictures which means that I was transfixed. Great to see young artists stretching and reaching.

Volta Art Fair

This is one of the better art fairs in March. It features one artist per booth, which helps you see the range and quality of an artist’s expression. It really helps you see the possibilities of the artists’ work. Love this show!

Great show this year, not a lot of repeated artists or artwork. Seeing new stuff everywhere. The quality is insane and the ideas are genius. I think this is one of the best years at the armory. It doesn’t seem like a lot of stuff is selling, but hard to tell. This is the best of the best.

Scope Art Show

Uneven art show with a range of graffiti artists and creative artists across disciplines. Art is so affordable that you can purchase a creative masterpiece for 2 weeks salary. I think we need a campaing to support artists in the way the diamond industry supports engagement ring purchases. Art is so important and everyone should support the powerful visual artists working today!

Taryn Simon

PAPERWORK AND THE WILL OF CAPITAL

Gagosian on 24th has an exhibit of the recent works of Taryn Simon, who has reduced the high tension political meetings of dignitaries down to the florist who arranged the bouquet that sat at the meeting. She strips away the context revealing the flowers that were designed for the event. One visual had no flowers, how sad. Also included in the show  are flower pressings of the type of flowers presented at these events. Framing is awesome. Check it out through March 26, 2016

Pace on 24th NYC

Great show on an artist’s 20 years worth of work, very fun and funky. He uses recycled and reusable substances that are inspiring for there commonality. I heard the word “Janky” being used to describe his work and it seems apt. The skinned knee sculpture kills me. I’ve been there, done that! Check it out through April 23, 2016
