Great Show at Jonathan Levine tonight. Dabs and Myla was there, Dirt Worship and Vandalog were there with Jersey Joe and Giz. Allstar Night. Great Art for his first solo show at Jonathan Levine. Oh Yea we bought art! So fun. Check it out through 3-19-16.
Space is the Place—Great show at Joshua Liner Gallery featuring oil on linen by Michael Kagan which showcases man’s moments of triumph over nature’s limits captured through iconic imagery as seen to the left. Also noteworthy is a cool show by Aïda Ruilova at Marlborough Chelsea featuring a 25-foot wide projection of a digitally transferred Super-16mm film, a large-scale inflatable, and a group of cut-paper collages. Cool night, check it out!

Cool group show highlighting one of my favorite artists of the moment, the flat, yet 3D wooden artwork of Michael Zelehoski. THe work is so flat, and so impossible and so tactile. Check it out through March 26, 2016. Also check out Liao Yibai, massive bicycle chain in the back center gallery.

Paintings and works on paper representing work from 2013-2015. Amazing work about the act of looking, pulling you into the experience of seeing, not necessarily what the content of the image is. The work is mesmerizing and has a very computerized feel as well as a crazy thickness of paint that feels surreal as if you are looking at the embroidery on the blouse of god. Pec-uliar. Belgian sculptor who brings a dark Taxidermied feeling to the installation. Set up with very low lighting and a textural darkness and subtle wetness to the sculptures, as if they have just been killed and skinned, wrapped and bound. I’m feeling an intensity of the mortal coil being spun off revealing dust. Very powerful show through 4.2.16. Check it out.
Gregory Crewdson @Gagosian — Cathedral of the pines, his latest set of images to be shown took 4 years in the making and 2 years of post-production which makes for an intense image maker. This show was big, loud and crowded, everyone naked and revealing themselves to the dark nature of real life. Open through 3-15-16. Check it out!
British Invasion—British Grafitti Artist Nick Walker has a one person show at the Quin Hotel from 6—9 PM tonight. New artworks created for the show! Should be a good party. Check it out!
