This is one of the better art fairs in March. It features one artist per booth, which helps you see the range and quality of an artist’s expression. It really helps you see the possibilities of the artists’ work. Love this show!

Pier 94 NYC

Great show this year, not a lot of repeated artists or artwork. Seeing new stuff everywhere. The quality is insane and the ideas are genius. I think this is one of the best years at the armory. It doesn’t seem like a lot of stuff is selling, but hard to tell. This is the best of the best.

RIME Solo Show

Conclusions

Great Show at Jonathan Levine tonight. Dabs and Myla was there, Dirt Worship and Vandalog were there with Jersey Joe and Giz. Allstar Night. Great Art for his first solo show at Jonathan Levine. Oh Yea we bought art! So fun. Check it out through 3-19-16.

Cool group show highlighting one of my favorite artists of the moment, the flat, yet 3D wooden artwork of Michael Zelehoski. THe work is so flat, and so impossible and so tactile. Check it out through March 26, 2016. Also check out Liao Yibai, massive bicycle chain in the back center gallery.

Paintings and works on paper representing work from 2013-2015. Amazing work about the act of looking, pulling you into the experience of seeing, not necessarily what the content of the image is. The work is mesmerizing and has a very computerized feel as well as a crazy thickness of paint that feels surreal as if you are looking at the embroidery on the blouse of god. Pec-uliar. Check it out through February 13, 2016.

Amazing show of Mark Ryden’s latest work. Amazing amount of detail to his process from painting on a lift with rollers to manufacturing the frames overseas to exacting specifications. There is no other world like his. Even the Fan Mom and Daughter dressed up and brought their favorite Mark Ryden dolls. It’s a macabre world where innocence and the gruesome comingal in an ethereal world. Check it out through January 23, 2016.

Such a cool show, so hard edged and graphic. the visuals just jump off the wall. It is so hard to get minimalistic visuals to make sense and to be balanced and in proportion. Check this show out and buy something!

Great show depicting store fronts from the past and the future in NYC. So detailed, yet etherial that you can still see the wheat paste and graffiti permantely embedded into the images.

Part 1 of 3

Good fair this year with an assortment of international galleries showcasing many smaller pieces and less “Statement” type pieces of artwork. Mood seemed a little subdued but the art is always intelligent and thought provoking. There were a couple of performance pieces as well as participatory artworks and a maze.
