Moynihan Station (Old Post Office Across from Penn Station)
Great show for up and coming artists. So cool to see the insides of this historic post office where each gallery had a space on 2 floors of the post office. I imagine in the day that each massive office was for on person only. Things have changed. I took a lot of pictures which means that I was transfixed. Great to see young artists stretching and reaching.
Scope Art Show
Uneven art show with a range of graffiti artists and creative artists across disciplines. Art is so affordable that you can purchase a creative masterpiece for 2 weeks salary. I think we need a campaing to support artists in the way the diamond industry supports engagement ring purchases. Art is so important and everyone should support the powerful visual artists working today!

Realistic photography at the De Buck Gallery, Zines and exquisite corpse at David Zwirner with the always interesting Raymond Pettibon (of Black Flag logo fame) as well as a salute to Black History month with a founder of Kamoinge (early group of African American photographers, setting a positive message). Amazing show of Mark Ryden’s latest work. Amazing amount of detail to his process from painting on a lift with rollers to manufacturing the frames overseas to exacting specifications. There is no other world like his. Even the Fan Mom and Daughter dressed up and brought their favorite Mark Ryden dolls. It’s a macabre world where innocence and the gruesome comingal in an ethereal world. Check it out through January 23, 2016.
