Very peculiar piece from a photo gallery. This sculptural piece is a readymade with 7 sinks synchronized to play with sound. The table top is a photograph (that’s where the photo gallery part comes in play) of marble that will deteriorate over time. The sculpture takes up almost the entire footprint of the gallery. Great show of photography. I must say it is so refreshing to not have to look at photography behind glass. I think that glass over the image is killing the art form. This show respects the image. (plus it rephotographs well!) Great take on the commerce and monotony of Art Fairs. We’ve always wanted to do a series of “gallerists eating lunch” at the art fair, but this comes pretty close. Andy captures a cool connection with the art being showcased and the gallerists interacting with the art. Great show. Check it out.
