This guy is hot. Most everything is sold. He reduces the dimensional into a 2D plane all the while preserving it’s 3D sensibilities. Cool show. Check it out through June 20, 2015.

40 Years On—David Salle has a big show at Skarstedt opening tonight featuring paintings from the series “Late Product Paintings” Very poppy, and fun show with large scale canvasses. Check it out!
Whitney Museum
Pre-Opening Weekend
The new Whitney Museum in the Meat Packing district at the end of the Highline does not disappoint. The museum has an amazing outdoor stair walk that takes you from floor to floor while giving your eyes and senses a rest between exhibits. Genius! The exhibit features works form the permanent collection of American Art. Lots of interesting work and lots of different corners to peer around and stumble upon art. Sitting area in the back of the museum allow you to rest and take in the sights of the Hudson river. Free entry on May 2, 2015. Check it out.
Philip-Lorca diCorcia
East of Eden
Reflecting the down times of the economy post 2008 market crash, Philip-Lorca diCorcia references the biblical book of genesis showcasing a pervasive sense of disillusionment. Photography looks great especially with no annoying glass to interfere with the viewing of the images. I which more photography shows were presented this way.

Foodhist Temple
Unix Gallery
Really cool immersive environment. You take off your dirty NYC poop stained shoes and enter a lush world of red. Carpet is red, walls are red, lighting is muted. It makes you want to stop a while and admire the food sculptures and contemplate the … pizza! Very shrine like and fun. Definitely check this out before it ends on May 9, 2015
Very intriguing night, a night for the curious indeed!—Cool re-appropriated
giant prints from the 1970’s Time Life volume “Library of Photography” by Matt Lipps at Danziger Gallery is visually stunning and oddly compelling. I want one! Also Paul Kasmin has a crazy retro installation that will probably be the party of the night. Tomas Sarceno is showcasing the architecture of the insect.
Bug out and check it out!
Scope Art Fair 2015
46th and 12th NYC
I call this art fair the “Sensationa” art fair. All the artwork is sensational, eye catching and eye popping. It seems to reside in the world of eye popping, eye candy type work that is executed on an exceptional level, but may not contain a lot of substance behind it. Visually amazing, check it out
Lamar Peterson
Weekend Gardner
Fredericks & Freiser gallery has a solo show by Lamar Peterson that is vivid with color and has an amazing painterly quality. Their is a childlike quality to these serious racial subjects. Check it out through March 14, 2015
Armory Art Fair 2015
46th and 12th NYC
High quality art is back with a fresh exhibition of artwork from major galleries around the world. You definitely see repeating artists and their work, but is seemed like this year the galleries tried to keep it fresh and updated. Worth the crowds, check it out.
