Really cool immersive environment. You take off your dirty NYC poop stained shoes and enter a lush world of red. Carpet is red, walls are red, lighting is muted. It makes you want to stop a while and admire the food sculptures and contemplate the … pizza! Very shrine like and fun. Definitely check this out before it ends on May 9, 2015

large show opening Thursday night at David Zwirner Gallery on 19th street. The show is very much a synthesis of our times and should make for interesting conversations about good and evil and right and wrong. Check it out.
Spring Art Shows Roll into Town— If only the snow and the shit weather would roll out! Opening this week and weekend are the Armory, Volta, Scope, Art on Paper, Independent and other ancillary fairs chock full of fresh new work to tempt your eyes and your wallets. Slush This!— Sculpture and more sculpture. Mathew Marks Gallery has two concurrent shows opening Thursday night that feature old and new sculptural work by Tony Smith and Charles Ray. Should be a monumental night, check it out.
Nature and Abstraction—Nice set of openings this Thursday night. Joshua Liner Gallery has two openings, the first featuring the work by Tiffany Bozic. She paints from nature and goes out into the wild to experience the wild environment first hand. Unix gallery features Alfredo Scaroina, an Abstract painter which is next door to Berry Campbell which is showing abstract work from the estate of Stephen Pace. Check it out.
Wayne White is in the House!— Joshua Liner Gallery has a great show featuring Wayne White of the early fame (Set decorator for the Pee Wee Herman Show) This will be a fun show with giant sized puppets from his residency in York, PA along with his brilliant word paintings. Refrigerated Dictators inside Coca-Cola cases that are actually running. Madame Tussauds would be proud of the likenesses of these evil dictators. This Spanish artist has come under legal fire in his home country for creating similar artwork of Franco inside the Coca-Cola refrigerated cabinet. He’s been sued and won, but his life is still not easy. The impact of these dictators lives on long after they die. Check it out. One of the more interesting shows in a while. Unix gallery never fails to excite. Great show! Check it out.
Get the Parties Started—Just when you thought the season was over, new life arises. Lots of great gallery shows currently open now (Glenn Brown, Keith Haring, Larry Clark, Tara Donovan, etc.) Hello summer! Great new openings this Thursday. Joshua Liner Gallery has a show by Thomas Campbell who is inspired by Gourds in the Berry McGee style. The show also contains sculpture and works in fabric. Good Party. Check it out.
