large show opening Thursday night at David Zwirner Gallery on 19th street. The show is very much a synthesis of our times and should make for interesting conversations about good and evil and right and wrong. Check it out.

John Waters

Beverly Hills John

Marianne Boesky Gallery

What an interesting artist. A nice wide ranging show of photographs, film and interesting sculptures. Some Cindy Sherman type work as well as a table reading of his x-rated film Pink Flamingos table read by children in wigs. It’s historical if you remember the source material. The egg lady part got me. Definitely check this out. Though February 14, 2015

All the Galleries are Open—A lot of great openings last week and very few this week. Plenty of great art to see. Stand-out show is Roxy Paine at Marianne Boesky Gallery. Made entirely out of wood, the show features a forced-perspective room made entirely out of wood that depicts an airport security station. Mind bending. Check it out.

Art’s BAAACK— Chinese muralist DALeast has a solo show at Jonathan Levine which should be packed. Flower graffiti and sticker slapper, Michael De Feo (The Flower Guy) is having a show at Rush Arts on the 3rd floor. Roxy Paine is showing at Marianne Boesky with a room sized work called Checkpoint. Fabricated from wood, this airport security checkpoint should be amazing to see in person. Check it out!
