2 Good shows opening tonight—Claire Oliver has some really intriguing imagery that looks kind of diorama-y by the artist Norbert Brunner. Looks like some super cool visual art. Definitely check it out. Yancey Richardson Gallery has a show entitled Genesis by the photographer Sebastiao Salgado. Poignant work that showcases his eight-year project photographing the natural world in its pristine, untouched state. Check it out!

Great show of “Villains” in the trademark, Jerk Face style. This is his first solo show and the paintings look amazing. Most all are in a square format and really bring a consistent pop aesthetic to the work. First show, check it out.

Early breakdancer and train car painter from the 80’s showcasing his more mature style. Cubist and Picassoish influences with an urban vibe. Cool show, check it out.
Outsider Art Ready for your Chill Thursday Night—Jonathan Levine has a solo show by Doze Green on 23rd in Chelsea which will be fun and mobbed. Cool fantastical creatures lurk beneath the surface of his paintings. Joshua Liner Gallery has a group show of artists who are paired with an artist who inspires them. Definitely a fun night. Bundle-up and check it out.

Great Shows—A lot of great shows Thursday night covering photography (Martin Schoeller at Hasted Kraeutler), Sculpture (Cool ceramic donuts at Lyons Wier Gallery by Jae Yong Kim) to painting (Sean Landers plaid covered animals at Petzel Gallery). Great night for art peeping! Check it out.
Good to Get Out—Quentin Garel is having a show called Bestiary at Bertrand Delacroix Galleryon 25th street. Intense figures carved and cleaved from wood should create a sculptural moment! Also showing on Saturday is Michael Skoggins at Freight and Volume (530 West 24th Street, NYC). Will be an awesome show!

Heavy Party Load This Thursday—Maya Hayuk is having a show at the Cinders gallery pop-up location at 124 Forsyth Street in Manhattan with variously angled canvasses. Definitely worth checking out her latest work. Mike Weiss Gallery has a crazy electrically visual show by Cameron Gray entitled Gymnasty. Should be a great party and lots of intense visuals.
